Facebook Messenger will drop support for an old feature soon. Meta introduced Messenger's SMS integration on Android in 2016 to compete against Apple's iMessage and Google's Android Messages. Currently, SMS text messages appear in purple, and Messenger conversations are shown in blue on the app.
